Berry Crumble
Yield: 10 servings

Ingredients
5 cups apples, peeled and sliced
2 cups Saskatoon berries or other berries
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ cup milled flax

Topping:
1/3 cup cold butter
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup whole-wheat flour
½ cup brown sugar
2 tbsp whole roasted flaxseed
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions
In a large bowl mix apples with berries, ¼ cup milled roasted flax, cinnamon and brown sugar.
Place in baking dish.
Mix whole flaxseed with oats, flour, sugar and cinnamon, cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over fruit mixture.


Tip: Substitute apples for rhubarb or sliced peach
